It is a very ambitious goal: the United Nations (UN) aims to triumph over world hunger by the year 2030. The Innovation Accelerator in Munich that was recently established by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) represents an important step on the path towards this goal. It brings UN employees together with experts from business and civil society. Working together, they are to develop creative solutions, devise prototypes and rapidly disseminate good ideas. “The Innovation Accelerator will contribute to the development of new technologies and business models that will benefit people in need,” said Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the opening. The initiative is also supported by the Federal Foreign Office.
