The German inhabitant was arrested Wednesday and stands indicted of “preparing a critical act of assault melancholy state security”, prosecutors in a northern city of Celle said.
“During interrogation, he certified that he designed to captivate military officers or soldiers into a trap and kill them with a homemade explosive,” they pronounced in a statement.
Investigators acid a suspect’s home in Northeim, in Lower Saxony, found chemicals that could be used to make a bomb.
The indicted is active in Germany’s ultra-conservative Salafist scene, a prosecutors added.
Germany is on high warning for belligerent attacks following a fibre of assaults final year, a deadliest of that was a Dec 19th lorry uproar by a Berlin Christmas marketplace that claimed 12 lives.
The conflict was claimed by apprehension organisation Isis.
German confidence services guess there are around 10,000 radical Islamists in a country, 1,600 of whom are believed to have “terror” links.
