It’s at this point that John Wick utters the line, “Guns. Lots of guns,” which should be instantly familiar to anyone who knows Keanu Reeves’ career — as well as one of the most pivotal action blockbusters of the 20th century. That’s right, it’s a direct reference to The Matrix, as that’s a line Reeves made famous with his deadpan delivery in the first movie. This line was uttered during a similar moment, when Neo (Reeves) gets ready for the third-act shootout sequence with Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and he’s presented with The Stockroom, which contains an arsenal of guns. (And, naturally, lots of them.)
