New paths, closer links
The “New Silk Road” aims to overcome borders – in business and transportation, in IT, appetite and finance. That is what also creates this plan by a Chinese supervision engaging for Europe. The opportunities were discussed jointly during a discussion in Feb 2016 during a Foreign Office. With 4.7 billion inhabitants, Eurasia is a “massive space” for cooperation, according to State Secretary Markus Ederer. Thanks to a EU community policy, a Central Asia plan and a EU-Russia strategy, a EU has already smoothed paths towards some-more “connectivity”. The Silk Roads Initiative has also to be seen in this context. Germany also wants to use a presidency of a OSCE to grasp even some-more connectivity: China will be a guest during a OSCE Economic Conference in Berlin in May.
