Europe’s oldest chimpanzee celebrates 60th birthday in Berlin

The accurate date of Fatou’s birthday isn’t famous since she wasn’t innate into captivity. 

Her tour to Berlin was a torturous one: a soldier brought behind a tiny chimpanzee from West Africa, and paid a pub in Marseille with a tiny Fatou. The landlady afterwards got in hold with a Berlin zoo and brought Fatou with her to Germany in 1959.

There, a zoo estimated her age to be about dual years old. This creates Fatou one of dual of a oldest gorillas in a world.

She shares a climax with a chimpanzee called Trudy, innate in 1957, who is kept in a zoo in a US state of Arkansas. The dual gorillas became a oldest in a universe after a genocide of Colo in Ohio, US, in Jan of this year.

There won’t be any birthday cake with candles for Fatou though. On a celebratory menu instead is pineapple and banana.

Fatou has a vast extended family next her. Her grandchild, M’Penzi, still lives in Berlin today, and she even has dual great-grandchildren who live in a Netherlands, according to Tagesspiegel.
