Jaber Albakr, 22, who was arrested Monday following a two-day manhunt after police detected explosives in his apartment, was found hanged in his cell, reported Germany’s Bild daily and other media.
According to a Süddeustche Zeitung, Albakr hung himself in his cell.
Police trust Albakr had links to apprehension organisation Isis.
“The proceed and poise of a think indicate to an IS context,” said Jörg Michaelis, arch questioner in a eastern state of Saxony, on Monday.
Albakr was incarcerated early Monday in a eastern city of Leipzig, after a large two-day manhunt.
Michaelis pronounced explosives found Saturday in Albakr’s unit were TATP, the homemade bomb used by jihadists in a Paris and Brussels attacks, in November final year and in Mar respectively.
The explosives were “almost ready, or even prepared for usage”, he said, adding that a think was apparently scheming a “bomb, presumably in a form of a self-murder vest”.
The conduct of Germany’s inner confidence use has also pronounced that Albakr designed to target one of Berlin’s airports.
