Key Christian parties and families fiercely competing for a control of internal councils in a second turn of metropolitan elections hold in Mount Lebanon over a weekend have unsuccessful to grasp any unconditional or large victory, according to central formula expelled by a Interior Ministry Monday.
In Jounieh, a Maronite heartland of a Mount Lebanon governorate, possibilities using on “Jounieh’s Dignity” list headed by Juan Hobeish and corroborated by a Free Patriotic Movement, a Kataeb Party and some internal families, won 14 of 18 seats in a town’s metropolitan council, central formula show.
In Sin al-Fil, a claimant list headed by a stream mayor Nabil Kahaleh swept all a town’s 18-member metropolitan council. Kahaleh’s list was corroborated by a Kataeb Party, Murr and internal families opposite a opposition sheet upheld by a FPM and a LF.
A list corroborated by a LF, a FPM and a Progressive Socialist Party won 12 seats in Deir al-Qamar’s 18-member metropolitan council.
