Politicians call for tough sentences for ‘killer clowns’
Several aroused incidents reported in new weeks opposite Germany involving people dressed as clowns have led politicians to call for a tough position opposite masked and costumed perpetrators as Halloween approaches.
Last Thursday, a 19-year-old in Rostock was pounded by a clown, leaving him with bruises on his conduct and arms. Three masked group also recently robbed a pizza emporium in Potsdam, dual of whom were sheltered as clowns. One of a group tasered a emporium workman during a robbery.
Bavarian interior apportion Joachim Herrmann told a Passauer Neue Presse on Monday that there would be no toleration for jester pranks.
“These kind of nasty gags can have terrible consequences,” Herrmann said.
“We will therefore not let people get divided with this, and any box that follows will be punished accordingly.”
North Rhine-Westphalia probity apportion Thomas Kutschaty also spoke of oppressive consequences for jester impersonators.
“Whoever wants to, as they say, shock others to death, is not being humorous though an offender,” Kutschaty told Bild.
“And therefore unmasked clowns could land in jail for adult to a year.”
Similar incidents in Sweden have stirred adults to set adult ‘clown-hunting’ groups on Facebook.
