Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wed in August 2014 after almost a decade together. A lot has changed in the six years since they exchanged their vows, as they eventually decided to go their separate ways, ending one of the most iconic Hollywood relationships. It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since Brad and Angie fell in love on the set of the action-packed 2005 film Mr. Mrs. Smith. At the time of production, Brad was married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston, and ended up leaving her for his Smith co-star. After his divorce was finalized, the new couple went public and even adopted three children together — Maddox, 19, Zahara, 15, and Pax, 16.

In January 2006, it was revealed that Angie was expecting the couple’s first biological child — Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 14, and they went on to welcome their twins, Vivienne and Knox, 12, roughly three years later. Though they were always committed to each other, it never crossed the minds of Brad or Angelina — coined “Brangelina” by the press — to become husband and wife. That is, until 2014, when they wed at their Château Miraval estate in Correns, France. The actor referred to her as “the love of his life” at the Golden Globe Awards, but remained mostly private about the details of their relationship. “We just wanted to keep it special. Keep it ours,” Brad told Rolling Stone about their relationship. Meanwhile, the Goop founder has also been quite candid over the years about their 1997 break up. “I was such a kid. I was 22 when we met,” she said in a 2015 interview with Howard Stern. “It’s taken me until 40 to get my head out of my ass. You can’t make that decision when you’re 22 years old…I wasn’t ready, and he was too good for me.”

Angelina shot to fame as a teenager in Hollywood, and her first major relationship was with fellow actor Jonny Lee Miller. The pair met on the set of their 1995 flick Hackers, and had a whirlwind romance, tying the knot in a small ceremony the following year. Although there were no signs of trouble in paradise, the marriage lasted just one year, and their divorce was finalized in February 1999. Both Angelina and Jonny have talked about the split, saying it was amicable and that they have remained friends.

Angelina’s second high-profile, whirlwind romance was with Billy Bob Thornton. The couple met while filming Pushing Tin in 1999 and married just months later in a Las Vegas ceremony in the year 2000.
