After years of patiently waiting, it’s nearly upon us. J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the most hotly anticipated movie left in 2019, with the franchise returning to its Holiday Season release slot. Episode IX will not only wrap up the current sequel trilogy, but the nine-film Skywalker Saga that George Lucas began with A New Hope. This full trailer included tons of new footage, and even a few moments that could make the longtime fans shed a tear. The music of the franchise was used masterfully, as was the footage of the late Carrie Fisher. But in typical Star Wars fashion, the plot of the movie remains shrouded in mystery, as well as big questions like Palpatine’s role. Luckily, answers are almost upon us. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20th, just in time for the holidays.
