Red Sea Global launches new water sports brands

  • April 05, 2023

Saudi Arabia-based project developer Red Sea Global has announced the launch of two new brands, centring around diving and water sports tourism.

Red Sea Global has earned plaudits for its regenerative tourism projects, including the Red Sea and Amaala, and has recently announced the launch of WAMA and Galaxea, brands focused on water sports and diving. The former will centre around “creating invigorating water sport adventures,” while the latter will offer customers diving services and experiences.

“Creating experiences is just as important as building hotels, and WAMA and Galaxea are sure to deliver unforgettable adventures for our guests,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.

“Whether it’s kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, foiling, kite surfing, sailing, or exploring the Red Sea’s incredible submarine world, WAMA and Galaxea will create extraordinary moments and beautiful memories that last a lifetime.”

According to reports Galaxea will collaborate with Saudi Water Sports Diving Federation and PADI International, with the goal of having diving facilities in line with “regenerative tourism standards.”

Red Sea Global revealed that an 11-month study of the Al Wajh Lagoon in Saudi Arabia helped unveil the region’s habitats, flora, and fauna, including endangered species and a centuries-old coral colony.

Meanwhile, WAMA will focus on developing water sports experiences, with stand-up paddleboarding through Saudi Arabia’s mangrove forests outlined as one standout example.

Beyond the launch of these two new brands, Red Sea Globe also unveiled its partnership with The Ocean Race, a sailing competition founded in 1973. It is believed the collaboration will inspire protecting the natural area and foster the development of sailing in the country.
